Syxnopsis    Mladá Američanka Maureen sa živí v Paríži ako osobná nákupňa oblečenia pre „obetovanú mediálnu celebritu“. Svoj voľný čas trávi v zvláštnom opustenom dome, kam sa nasťahovala po smrti jej brata. Je presvedčená, že s ním vie nadviazať kontakt.

MOVIE  REVIEW 

Personal Shopper  francúzskeho scenáristu a festivalového režiséra Oliviera Assayasa  je žánrovým hybridom, ktorý mieša  filmové pradivo, kombinujúc psychologický  triler, horor a kriminálno-osobnú drámu hlavnej postavy.

Práve  vďaka  hybridizácii film  pôsobí skôr ako  „otázny pastiš a artový rébusový experiment„, ktorý žiaľ  svoju  nesúrodými  motívmi  „duchársku a mimorealitnú tému“, ktorú si vybral – nezvládol.

Osobne ponímané hororové momenty a výskum  zjavovania duchov v strašidelnom dome  sú spolu  protichodné   looku moderného veľkomesta, alebo dlho, a fetišisticky snímaným skúšaniam odevov, s uletenou protagonistkou, z ktorej je cítiť viac bezpohlavný transgender,  než  akýsi žánrový  či  mysteriózny sklon ku skutočným  mimozemšťanom a bytostnej  paranormalite.

Túto realitu  (ne)nenahradí  ani exkluzívny vnor do intímnych sfér protagonistky, a už  vôbec nie  veľmi nedomyslené  záverečné party filmu s nelogickou vraždou  zamestnávateľa,  s  neobjasneným východiskom scenára.

Film   ukazuje  len prvky  akejsi  hry   značne povrchnej hĺbky,  a  žiaľ  smelý projekt  ostal  len v rovine  artového pokusu  o  film,  ale rozvinutie vlastnej témy i príbehu   je  v  hmle náznakov  a tušení  (dosť akademických a značne naivný);  bez akejkoľvek  podstatnej  pointy,  gradácie a nálady pre publikum.

Ani introvertná postava Kristin Stewart  nemá čo by hrala, i keď „body“ má ako zrelá lolitka, nič viac.   Filmový modernizmus a mladosť  ako klišé  a „krok zaujímavého tvorcu a nekonvenčného francúzskeho režiséra:  …  v tomto opuse  značne  vedľa chceného zámeru“   (zreteľne bučanie poučeného publika na MFF v Cannes).

It is thanks to hybridization that the film looks more like a „questionable trap and art rebus experiment“, which unfortunately with its disparate motifs „spiritual and extra-realistic theme“, which he chose – did not manage. Personally perceived horror moments and research on the appearance of ghosts in a haunted house are together opposed to the look of a modern big city, or long, and fetishistically sensed clothing trials, with a fleeting protagonist who feels more asexual transgender than a genre or mysterious tendency to real extraterrestrials. paranormalite.

This reality will not (not) be replaced by an exclusive immersion into the intimate spheres of the protagonist, and not at all the very unintentional final parts of the film with the illogical murder of the employer, with an unexplained starting point for the script. The film shows only elements of a kind of play of considerably superficial depth, and unfortunately the bold project remained only in the level of an art attempt at film, but the development of its own theme and story is in a fog of hints and suspicions (quite academic and quite naive); without any significant point, gradation and mood for the audience.

Even the introverted character Kristin Stewart has nothing to play, even though she has „points“ like a mature lolita, nothing more. Film modernism and youth as clichés and „the step of an interesting filmmaker and unconventional French director: … in this opus, considerably next to the desired intention“ (clearly the roar of an informed audience at the Cannes IFF).
