SYNOPSIS – Legendary comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) has been carving her own path in the male-dominated comedy scene for decades, living a lavish life in a lavish Las Vegas mansion while running a successful luxury brand. The owner of the casino where Deborah performs, however, wants to replace her with younger artists in the night show. Her manager Jimmy (Paul W. Downs) therefore asks his other client, the recently fired TV screenwriter Ava (Hannah Einbinderová), to help revive Deborah’s show with her own ideas. The result is a brutally honest and hilarious half-hour series about the conflicted relationship between a great comedian and her budding partner.

Chemia aj konflikty medzi oboma herečkami fungujú. Generačné konflikty starších vs. mladšími milenianmi sú múdro podané. Postava klasickej rodinne orientovanej workoholičky Debry, ktorá si síce rozvrátila vlastné rodinné vzťahy, ale má vplyv aj bohatstvo av tom ho pomáha aj ho mentorka a čerstvo najatá scenáristka v komickom subžánri.

Ava bola skôr zakázaná za nejaký nevhodný tweet o LGBTQ, čo by ale nesedelo do jej povahy. Pretože ona má byť tá progresívna a keby sa zišli dve ženy rôznych generácií, obe s konzervatívnymi názormi.
