SYNOPSIS Honey Don’t! is a dark, gender-bending, slapstick comedy about Honey O’Donahue (Margaret Qualley), a small-town private detective hired to investigate a series of strange deaths linked to a church with sinister sectarian practices. The house is ruled by the truly eccentric Reverend Drew (Chris Evans), known for his wild, heady sex and Bible-reading. When Honey O’Donahue is at her wit’s end, she enlists the help of MG (Aubrey Plaza), a police officer with a mysterious past. Honey Don’t! is part of Ethan Coen’s intended trilogy of lesbian B-movies, along with Baby on the Run. This triple-A series is a fresh and immensely entertaining reflection with a shocking denouement.

Honey Don’t! je súčasťou Ethan Coenovej zamýšľanej trilógie lesbických béčkových filmov, spolu s filmom Baby on the Run. Táto séria s tromi najlepšími filmami je sviežou a nesmierne zábavnou reflexiou so šokujúcim rozuzlením.

Ďalší veľmi excentrický a excesívny opus fenomenálneho Etana Coena. Honey Don’t! je temná, rodovo orientovaná groteskná komédia o Honey O’Donahue (Margaret Qualley), súkromnej detektívke z malého mesta, ktorú si najali na vyšetrenie série podivných úmrtí spojených s kostolom so zlovestnými sektárskymi praktikami. Domu vládne skutočne excentrický reverend Drew (Chris Evans), známy svojím divokým, opojným sexom a čítaním Biblie. Keď je Honey O’Donahue na pokraji svojich síl, požiada o pomoc MG (Aubrey Plaza), policajtku s tajomnou minulosťou.

Zápletka aj dej je pretkaný krvavými mord scénami, ľahkou feministickou erotikou, zosmiešňovaním a satirou na biblický či cirkevný kontext Biblie, a nenáročnými dialógmi. Herecky a ženským kastingom famózne. Film nemá zmysel ale atmoška je pre istú časť cieľovej skupiny značne atraktívna.

Šokantný bizár hlavne pre queer komunitu, podobne ako Drive-away Dolls. Publikum si o tom racionálne či v užšej logickej interpretácii nevie čo má myslieť. Žánrovo je to ako dráma dosť nepochopitelné a nespasil to ani jeden poletujúci papagáj, ktorý dva krát narazil na sklo, a následne vyšiel z obrazu.

Critical summary of the film: xxx The plot and action are intertwined with bloody murder scenes, light feminist eroticism, mockery and satire of the biblical or church context of the Bible, and unpretentious dialogues. The acting and female casting are fabulous. The film has no clear meaning or literal logic, but the atmosphere is quite attractive to a certain part of the target group. Shockingly bizarre, especially for the queer community, similar to Drive-away Dolls. The audience does not know what to think about it rationally or in a narrower logical interpretation. In terms of genre, it is quite incomprehensible as a drama and not even a single flying parrot, which hit the glass twice and then exited the picture, saved it.
