NOTE: This HBO series presents basketball coach Ray Drecker and his midlife crisis along with the economic crisis in the US, meant by austerity measures in education and the private sector. He was kicked by his own wife, his house burned down, and he does everything in vain to be with his not very successful children. In the main role is the male idol Drecker, who found himself in a crisis situation and is being chased one blow after another. The former high school sports star fell into a routine. His high school teacher colleague Ray is now a divorced, middle-aged coach. A satirical treatise on today’s America, the sex business and the mentality of the middle class, and especially on the deep gap between the female and male psyche, which is actually an endless satirical farce.

NOTICKA: Tento seriál z produkcie HBO predstavuje basketbalového kouča Raye Dreckera a jeho krízu stredného veku, spolu s ekonomickou krízou v USA, mienenou úspornými opatreniami v školstve a skromnom sektore.

Odkopla ho vlastná manželka, vyhorela mu polovina domu a nemá na jeho opravu, a márne robí čokoľvek, aby mohol so svojimi – nie velmi vydarenými deťmi. Bieda ho prinútila stať sa gigolom a spolumajiteľom firmy pre zoznamku žien, ktoré hľadajú potešenie za peniaze.

V hlavnej úlohe je mužský idol Drecker, ktorý sa ocitol v krízovej situácii a je to jedna rána za druhou. Športová hviezda zapadla v rutine stredoškolského telocvikára. Aj jeho učitelský a stredoškolský kolega Ray je teraz rozvedený trenér ve strednom veku.

Satirický pohľad na dnešnú Ameriku, sex-biznis i mentalitu strednej vrstvy v USA, a hlavne na hlbokú priepasť medzi ženskou a mužskou psychikou, co je vlastne nekonečná satirická fraška. I keď tu ide o kvalitný a výnimočne podarený pracovný model.
